Our View.
Our view is that a nature-based solution is best. The most effective way to prevent catastrophic climate change is to preserve rainforests.
Our Solution.
The rainforest is worth more verified as a source of carbon credits than as a farm. Herein, we see an investment opportunity. ~108,000 hectares of amazonian forest we have identified as investment quality. This land has an annual value on the voluntary carbon credit markets of roughly $162MM assuming $10 per metric ton of carbon per hectare and 150 metric tons CO2e per hectare. We view these assumptions as conservative.
To verify a property for the carbon market we use a process called REDD+, a UN protocol. REDD+ stands for reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation that is recognized in carbon markets worldwide.
Entering our Market.
To see the financial opportunities for which we will be eligible, see the image to the right. Under the Financial Opportunities column we would participate in the Voluntary Carbon Market with REDD+ verification.
